Fantastic sand and best water quality in just minutes: Caladesi Iceland is an island of peace and was elected 2008 as the most beautiful beach in the USA:

The current rating of "Dr. Beach ", the instance in terms of quality of bathing was Caladesi Iceland chosen for the second consecutive year the number two of the most beautiful beaches in the United States and 2008 for number one. In addition, given the beaches of the island to the Blue Wave Award, an award for most sustainable beach management. Caladesi Iceland is one of the last unspoiled islands in Florida. It is located north of Clearwater Beach and is accessible only by boat. While enjoying the pleasure-seeking Young & Beautiful all walks of Miami's South Beach and indulge in the cult of the body, there is here in the Gulf of Mexico pure tranquility. Powdered sugar-like sand beaches surround the more than two square kilometer island that lead into the shallow turquoise sea. Now and again we find large shells lying hidden in the sand, where crabs have set up a home. Caladesi Iceland is also home to numerous bird species and boasts a lush and unspoiled nature. Well-marked hiking trails to explore one's own. Limited to a small area of day visitors may picnic or throw themselves into their own established bathing beach houses in uniform. The rest of the island thus remains preserved in its originality.

Honeymoon Island:

Welcome to Honeymoon Island State Park! Summertime is here and it's brought along the heat that Florida is known for! Please bring plenty of water with you when visiting the park and be sure to stay hydrated! Bring your binoculars for bird-watching along the three mile Osprey trail. You may spot American Bald Eagles, Red-shouldered Hawks, or Great Horned Owls. Ospreys are aplenty in the barren pine snags! Gopher tortoises, armadillos, and various snakes may also be seen, so be on the lookout and watch your step! Our new beach has proven to be a great spot for beachgoers, although not as popular as the main swimming area. We do advise that the jetty is not intended to be a fishing pier nor a structure to walk/climb on. Bring your buckets for sandcastles and enjoy the summertime at the beautiful beach of Honeymoon Island! Don't forget your sunscreen!

The beautiful island to our south, Caladesi Island, was recently named the #1 Beach in America by Dr. Beach! This along with the 1 million plus visitors that Honeymoon Island sees a year may cause for longer lines into the park. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to shorten the amount of time you spend in line!

When bringing your dog out to Pet Beach please make sure that you allow everyone (including you and your dog) to enjoy the beach safely by keeping your dog on a 6 foot hand-held leash and under your control at all times.

To enhance your experience, visit the Rotary Centennial Nature Center. Open daily from 9am to 5pm, the observation deck provides a spectacular view of the St. Joseph Sound, as well as the Gulf of Mexico. Inside you will learn more about the natural communities and history of Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands.

Welcome to Honeymoon Island State Park

The pioneers called it Hog Island, but it became Honeymoon Isle in 1939 when a New York developer built 50 palm - thatched bungalows for honeymooners. Today, visitors can drive across Dunedin Causeway to enjoy the sun - drenched Gulf beaches, mangrove swamps, and tidal flats. Nature lovers will find osprey nests, a wide variety of shorebirds, and one of the few remaining virgin slash pine forests in South Florida. The park boasts several nature trails and bird observation areas. Visitors can swim, fish, and snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf or picnic while they enjoy the beautiful scenery. Shelling is particularly good here, as the Gulf currents deposit an incredible variety of seashells on the shore. Showers are available and the park´s concession has a gift shop and snack bar. Located at the extreme west end of State Road 586
